What makes Frogpond Farm a unique, boutique winery experience?
Besides the fact that we are located in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, there are numerous reasons why our winery should be on your bucket list.
Reason #1 ~ We care about the environment, our community, our customers, our workers and our animals! Sustainability is our focus and responsible stewardship of land and water resources is integrated into everything we do. For example, the winery uses only renewable sourced energy (provided by Bullfrog Power). Our wines are bottled in lightweight glass bottles to reduce our carbon footprint. We keep a variety of plants, birds and animals on the farm to create a balanced ecosystem. You can even buy farm-fresh eggs at our winery. But hurry, they sell out fast!
Reason #2 ~ Try the difference organic makes! We make wine only from the grapes we grow and our wines are certified organic and vegan. Our winemaking is low intervention, with low sulphites … in a nutshell, honest wine. We have also kept the price of our wines reasonable and affordable. Take a look.
Reason #3 ~ We have a self-guided vineyard tour featuring our “frog” pond that also hosts snapping turtles and fish; our animal enclosures and pastures with chickens, ducks, guinea fowl and sheep; and of course the vineyard … home to Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Merlot (the other grape varieties are in our vineyard on Line 4).
Reason #4 ~ We have an art show! Every year in the month of June, we organize an art show featuring over 30 talented, local artists. Painting, mixed media, photography, pottery, stained glass, wood turned items, handmade jewellery, home decor and personal items made from repurposed materials, pollinator bee habitats, honeys and jams … our vendor artisans are too numerous to list, but you will most definitely find that unique gift for someone special or perhaps for yourself.
Reason #5 ~ We provide a safe, thorough, tutored wine tasting with a flight of four of our delicious organic wines (the tasting line-up changes weekly). Just book online and we’ll take care of making sure that you stay safe during this COVID-19 challenging time and that you enjoy and learn something new! With our outdoor and indoor tasting bars, we strive protect you and members of your social bubble by sanitizing all surfaces after each customer, providing hand sanitizers for your use, and having our staff wear masks/visors. We kindly ask that you bring a mask with you as your tasting may be held indoors.
Hope to see you soon!
Reason #6 ~ Our winery is family owned and operated. Our staff are our family. You will always receive friendly, knowledgeable service. We take the time to get to know you and your wine preferences.
