COVID-19 has changed many things for people … the least of which was our annual staff party, traditionally held in December prior to Christmas. Well, there was no party in 2020, so Jens had the brilliant idea to have a backyard BBQ in September, to show his appreciation for his hard-working staff.
On a warm September evening, the staff and their significant others were greeted by Jens and Kim who had set up tents and picnic tables. Favourite beverages were on hand … organic grape juice, organic wines and a few beer.
Jens and Kim took charge of the meats (sausages, chicken, beef burgers), the staff brought shrimp, salads, fruit trays and homemade cakes.
We are not shy to say that we are a talented bunch … in wine making, cooking and performing arts!
As we post this, harvest is in full swing – the white grapes are all in and now we cross our fingers for sunny, dry weather allowing the reds to hang a while longer.
Thanksgiving is behind us and we have much to be thankful for – our health, our families, our great staff, our customers and friends, and hopefully a good vintage! It’s a busy time at the winery but we continue to welcome everyone with a smile and delicious organic wines to taste.
